CFCARC
The Cy-Fair CERT Amateur Radio Communications (CFCARC) group is made up of very active ham radio operators who regularly participate in field exercises to improve their skills and test communications with their radio equipment. They are capable of assisting the CFFD (Cy-Fair Fire
Department) and other local responders as well as ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) District 14 if there is a major event. They support community events such as the BP MS150 and the Fire Fest.
The CFCARC monthly meeting is held at 7:00p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Cy-Fair Fire Department 911 Dispatch Center located at 9101 Wheat Cross Drive, Houston, TX 77095. The meeting is open to Cy-Fair CERT members interested in amateur radio use in community
emergency communications. Other amateur radio licensed visitors are welcome to attend (send an e-mail to CFCARC beforehand).
CFCARC holds a Public Service Net for the Cy-Fair area on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30p.m.Cental Time to discuss topics related to amateur radio, emergency communications, committee business and Cy-Fair CERT activities. The Net uses the TranStar Repeater N5TRS and the frequency is 145.370.”-”offset, and PL tone 123.0. CFCARC members as well as all amateur radio licensed visitors are welcome to check in with or without traffic.
