After a delay of several months due to the Coronavirus, Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) has started making tentative plans to resume CERT Training Classes starting in mid-August. While we’re not 100% confident that the CERT training will actually start in mid-August, Cy-Fair CERT (CFC) wants to be ready if get a “green light” from HCOHSEM to begin training. So, we are tentatively opening our Fall CERT Training class registration. At the moment, CERT Training classes will be limited to 20 participants; participants will be required to follow social distancing rules, will be required to wear face masks, use hand sanitizer, and table tops and surfaces will be cleaned frequently. Participant Safety will be paramount. Actual skills training sessions will be conducted with participants wearing exam type gloves. Other safety protocols may be required as well.
There is NO FEE for this 8 week class. You receive a class manual and backpack with starter supplies such as a hardhat and safety vest. Upon graduation you receive a certificate and official CERT ID badge.
If you are interested in registering for the next class, please send your first and last name (no nicknames), cell phone number and email address to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be contacted when additional details are available.
